What Is Mannan?

It is obtained from the seed of tagua, which is found in the native forests of Ecuador Tagua seed of vegetable origin, from the Phytelephas aequatorialis trees, Tagua palms grow up to eight meters in height and produce seeds or nuts that are known as ‘vegetable ivory’.

Mannan is a polysaccharide that is found in many soft woods.

In nature we can found four types such as:

• Glucomannan,
• Galactomannan,
• Glucogalactomannan and
• Pure mannan.

The tagua or ivory nut is the one that contain pure mannan.
